Whiskey Truth

"Whiskey Truth" Red rock and river flow down along the bend Death knows to never find me here Black tar and dirt rain down from beyond the grave She knows my name and knows my heart is here This haunted man, is torn in two by the force of love now lost (adrift at sea) She lit my pyre, devoured my soul And left the day I let her drown Pure of heart, she walks with grace And her lips have left their mark on broken men Devoid of life, I walk with loss Swallowing the devil from the bottle of the sailors crutch This haunted man, is torn in two by the force of love now lost (adrift at sea) She lit my pyre, devoured my soul And left the day I let her drown To feel her skin, in ways they say was sin I'd never let her go To feel her skin, in ways they say was sin I'd never let her go To feel her skin, in ways they say was sin I'd never let her go To feel her skin, in ways they say was sin I'd never let her go again This haunted man, is torn in two by the force of lov

Unsound

"Unsound" Take this, white lie charade And show me what you really feel I could have guessed It'd turn out like this But I never thought It'd take this long I've seen this all before And It always ends the same (There's no truth behind those eyes) It always ends the same Do these leaves still fall? Without a tree to help them grow? I thought I saw you differently A broken life in need of something more But I may been mistaken You have yourself and need nothing more There's more to life Than weekend binges There's more to this Than just the honesty They took my trust away Shallow hearts with hell to pay Come on and set this straight I thought I saw you differently A broken life in need of something more But I may been mistaken You have yourself and need nothing more You know You know How this will end This should have never started (It just infects me more) You are the poison - - - Song Meaning: Betrayal. An unsound relationship. Coming to the realiza

The Thirteenth

" The Thirteenth"   Beyond the path of misery's company Lies a passion unrenowned Where the dead lay claim to the fallen Shall I find you here Will I find you here my dear?   Behold! The coming of the thirteenth Behold! The devilry it brings There is no retribution to be found here   I still feel the cold touch of her hand   The storm has come, her wrath manifested Memories flood the gates and entomb the soul   I will no longer be a slave to her ways Can you feel her breathing down your neck? I will bury the remains of what was left of us Can you feel her clawing at your throat?   Behold! The coming of the thirteenth Behold! The devilry it brings There is no retribution to be found here   Forever Her curse remains Forever I am bound to her chains   Beware! Beware! The thirteenth of October - - - Song Meaning: Meant for symphonic deathcore, this song is about a couple who first express their love for each other on the unlucky day known as Friday the thirteenth, thus damni

MMVIII

"MMVII "   Wandering these broken paths Through a forest of past regret I see nothing but the damage I've done A broken soul worth the cost of cheap cigarettes   I can't feel my lungs I can feel the death in the air   I never meant to lose myself Among the trees and the withered earth Finding you was all that it took For me to finally find my worth   These weathered hands, still let you down But this weary heart still yearns for you   I held the world (I held the world) I held the world (I held the world) Where did I go wrong?   I held the world, between my fingertips And I let it slip, straight through the cracks   With no ounce of clarity, to decide what the future holds I continue to wander the wood, telling all that I should To the bark and the branches   I've buried my past, but I can't bury you As long as your heart still beats, I know I'll push through

The Weathered Man

"The Weathered Man"   What does it mean, to be a man? What does it mean, to be a man?   I've tried for years to see the truth But I've always come up short   God knows I've tried, but I just can't breathe God knows I've tried, but I just can't breathe   This has to end, running and running and running my head into the ground, over and over and over it never ends, again and again and again I plead but never find resolve   I never find resolve   Broken hearts and broken homes They cry, "Come all ye weary" How does one learn to love again? Have I lost myself again? Am I too far to reach? God send a sign?   Because I can't do this on my own   I'll never be the same I'll never be the same again - - - Song Meaning: A simple prayer of sorts. A desire to find one's faith again. We often feel worn and torn down by this world. This is a simple song about a simple topic. Finding peace in God.

Snow (Free Verse)

"Snow"   It's like snow... Blanketing the landscape I so willingly carved for myself. Snow is beautiful, enchanting, and can cover whatever it chooses. But it will melt away.   And everyday I see things that remind me of this bitter fact...   ...Have you ever seen two people share so much in common That if any other person steps between their paths, they become like snow. Temporary, and cold   Down to the little things they scream for each other Even amidst the cries of those who argue that opposites do pull together. Which I do not deny can surely happen. Yet when two souls are so tightly similar And so strongly connected by the bonds of friendship. And have expressed their attraction in some physical manner Whether intentionally or by accident You still feel it   You still feel the cold of the snow   An obstruction. An obstacle in the way of fate Is what I have determined I have become I am the snow blanketing an already firm foundation That I am sure will last for man

The Water (Free Verse)

The Water    There was a faint glimmer of light atop the water, signaling the warmth of the late afternoon sun. The narrow lake stretched onward with end in sight, the only land being the paralleled walls of trees on each end of its banks. A gentle breeze was present, just enough to send a chill down your spine after emerging from the day warmed water. And there she was.    Idly swimming in one place watching over her class of pupils. Her hair was wet and slicked back promising her eyes the attention they deserved. It was enough to send the strongest man to his knees. Beauty you couldn't imagine if you tried your hardest. Her smile grew as she caught sight of me standing on the edge of the bank and in that moment, colors and sounds rushed through me in ways indescribable. Beauty I used to know.    She had moved on. This was a dream? This was a memory? I couldn't tell. I couldn't even move from my spellbound stance. This was a memory from a future point in time. She had mo
